Servier and Curie-Cancer renew research partnership

Servier and Curie-Cancer have announced a renewal of their long-standing partnership in the field of cancer research.

The three-year extension to the collaboration has been agreed with the aim of identifying therapeutic targets for treating triple-negative breast cancers, which account for around 15 percent of breast cancer cases and are particularly aggressive.

Since 2005, the two organisations have been working together to identify potential therapeutic targets specific to triple-negative breast cancers, leading to the discovery of a number of promising leads.

The decision to expand the partnership is based on these encouraging results, as well as a desire to explore more potential areas of interest.

Emmanuel Canet, president of research and development at Servier, said: "Servier's research strategy includes developing research partnerships with the leading academic teams. Our long-term partnership with the Institut Curie symbolises our ability to work effectively and cohesively with the best teams in the world."

Servier regularly collaborates with the world's leading healthcare organisations, having announced a new cardiovascular disease product partnership with Amgen last year.
