Sheep DNA Transported from UK to US for The First Time
As part of the broader access victory, which allowed for lamb shipments to the US, the first UK ovine foetuses have been transported.
The initial installment, which totals to about £400,000, satisfies a desire from US clients wanting to purchase exclusively from the UK.
US breeders will be able to achieve full thorough-bred titles through the utilization of imported UK foetuses.
The National Sheep Association’s executive director, Phil Stocker, called it “great news” for the sheep business since it will boost its standing internationally.
Head of Sales, Phil Hadley said, “We are delighted that the first high-value sheep genetics exports have been shipped to the US in what is a major milestone for the sector.”
