Siemens case study shows benefits of Advia LabCell
Siemens has published a new case study which demonstrates the efficiency benefits its Advia LabCell automation technology can provide for laboratories.
The science company's solution has been utilised by the Furst Medical Laboratory in Norway, a privately-owned lab serving around 6,000 physicians.
When replacing its chemistry and immunoassay analysers, the facility selected the automated Advia technology in an effort to reduce its manual workload, cut its processing steps and save money.
Since implementing Siemens' devices, it has been able to increase the number of tests it performs annually from 7.7 million to 12 million, as well as reducing the time spent handling tubes by 30 per cent.
Dr Marie Buchmann, medical director of Furst Medical Laboratory, added: "There will come a time when we will have to increase the capacity of our system … we have confidence that the Advia LabCell will be able to expand to accommodate our needs."
Last month, the company published a Dutch case study of its VersaCell sample management technology, demonstrating its effectiveness in improving efficiency.
