Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics introduces new automation solutions

Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics has unveiled three new clinical laboratory automation solutions to assist in the elimination of manual processes performed by laboratory staff.

These comprise of its ADVIA Centaur XP Immunoassay System, the StreamLAB Analytical Workcell and a decapper module.

The VersaCell system allows customers with high test volumes to connect ADVIA Centaur XP systems to IMMULITE Immunoassay Systems to access a wide range of routine and specialty immunoassays.

Meanwhile, Siemens’ decapper module works alongside the ADVIA LabCell and the ADVIA WorkCell Automation Systems to reduce manual labour connected with processing patient samples as it automates the removal of test tube caps.

Lastly, the Food and Drug Administration-approved ADVIA Centaur XP system connects with the StreamLAB Analytical Workcell and increases efficiency through a combination of high-speed immunoassay systems and a scalable, open-architecture automation system.

The release of these new products comes after Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics was selected by Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to deliver long-term managed pathology services last month.
