Siemens Healthineers and Mentice collaborate on angio-suite integration

Siemens Healthineers and Mentice AB are to collaborate on the integration of the latter’s VIST® Virtual Patient into Siemens’ Artis icono angiography system, to provide a safe, immersive, and radiation-free endovascular procedure simulation environment. This collaboration will mean interventional cardiologists, neuro-radiologists and radiologists will be able to perform simulated vascular and cardiac procedures on a virtual patient inside the angio-suite, either by using Mentice’s extensive library of patient cases or by importing actual MR and CT patient data. Transesophageal echocardiography, intravascular ultrasound, optical coherence tomography, and fractional flow reserve procedures are also available.
