Siemens Healthineers enhances Teamplay network for EU compliance

Siemens Healthineers has expanded its cloud-based network Teamplay to aid compliance with new European regulations on radiological imaging.

Teamplay will be enhanced to include new functions that will help hospitals and radiology practices comply with the future Euratom radiation protection directive for radiological imaging, which were published in January 2014 and must be implemented by February 2018.

The Teamplay Dose application helps the operators of radiological imaging facilities to document and monitor patient doses and optimise radiation exposure, with its home screen dashboard indicating how many examinations have exceeded the national reference value or the internal limit of the institution within a defined time period.

By clearly listing all dose outliers, it makes it easier for users to analyse and compare them in detail, providing a solid foundation for suitable countermeasures.
