Siemens Healthineers introduces Atellica system at AACC 2016

12th August 2016

Siemens Healthineers has unveiled its new flexible immunoassay and clinical chemistry solution Atellica at the annual meeting of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC).

The company attended AACC 2016 in Philadelphia last week to showcase the innovative system, which featured patented bi-directional magnetic sample-transport technology designed to be ten times faster than conventional conveyors.

Key features include the industry's highest level of productivity per sq m, allowing more than 400 tests to be carried out per hour, while its multi-camera vision system and intelligent sample routing enable independent control over every sample.

It is also highly scalable, allowing up to ten components and more than 300 customisable configurations to be used, and it can handle more than 30 sample container types.

The company says the Atellica system has been developed following analysis of customer demand and extensive research of market trends.

Franz Walt, president of laboratory diagnostics at Siemens Healthineers, said: "The result is a game-changer that delivers control and simplicity, so our customers can focus on driving better business and clinical outcomes and spend less time managing operations."
