Siemens launches LabPro V4.11 and LabPro Connect microbiology tools

Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics has announced the launch of new software tools to enhance its microbiology testing portfolio.

The new LabPro V4.11 and LabPro Connect offerings have already been introduced in the US and Puerto Rico, with additional country launches set to take place later this month.

LabPro V4.11 is the latest version of Siemens' LabPro Information Manager software and features upgrades such as a new panel information tab, a WalkAway selector displaying instrument status and the ability to sort testing barcodes.

Meanwhile, LabPro Connect will work in tandem with this program, consolidating databases for multiple testing systems in a way that will reduce wasted time for staff.

The company said the new software will provide "effective management of microbiology test results – from order to lab information system transmission – using intuitive, customisable features to enable faster workflow and delivery of important test results".

Earlier this month, Siemens announced a new alliance with Nephromics on the development of a new offering of detection systems for preeclampsia.
