Siemens launches new model of Acuson S2000 ultrasound system
Siemens has launched the latest version of its Acuson S2000 ultrasound system, which is designed to be used in a variety of healthcare and diagnostic applications.
The new 2.0 release of the unit has been augmented with a number of new features, including high-definition tissue imaging, improved contrast enhancement and an increased range of cardiovascular functions.
In addition, it has also been designed to improve workflows via a more efficient system of displays and improved levels of automation, which eliminate unnecessary keystrokes and manual interaction.
Dr Norbert Gaus, chief executive officer for ultrasound at Siemens Healthcare, said the new unit “allows the clinician to confidently obtain accurate quantification of lesion tissue stiffness, further enhancing diagnostic confidence”.
The Acuson system is designed for general imaging in fields such as obstetrics and gynaecology, in addition to vascular and cardiac imaging.
Last month, Siemens launched the new Innovance endogenous thrombin potential assay, a device which allows for measurement of haemostatic potential in plasma.
