Siemens scanner showpiece of Alliance Medical facility

Alliance Medical has unveiled a new state-of-the-art scanner as part of its purpose built facility at the Falkirk and District Royal Infirmary.

The new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner is a Siemens 1.5 Tesla MRI Avanto scanner, featuring Siemens’ much talked about TIM technology.

The scanner, which is operated by experienced radiographers from Alliance Medical, is supported by a full range of peripheral coils and ensures a broad range of examinations with rapidly returned results.

The peripheral coils mean that the technology can be used for a range of specialities, including neurology, rheumatology, oncology, urology and full cardiac and cardiovascular imaging, among others.

It is part of a new facility that is set in a modern patient environment, offering patients and clinicians alike a professional and pleasant service.

The centre, which is the first of its kind in Scotland, was officially opened on March 27th, offering faster, next-day results through the use of the Siemens technology.
