Sigma-Aldrich appoints new board member
Sigma-Aldrich has announced the election of veteran businessman Michael Marberry as the newest member of its board of directors.
Mr Marberry is the president and chief executive officer of JM Huber Corporation, a diversified multinational supplier of engineered materials, natural resources and technology-based services.
It serves industries ranging from paper and energy to plastics and construction, meaning the new director possesses business experience spanning multiple sectors that will be of benefit to Sigma-Aldrich.
Rakesh Sachdev, president and chief executive officer of Sigma-Aldrich, said: "His broad background and international experience in leading a successful global company … will help Sigma-Aldrich in strategic efforts to enhance its leadership position in life science and high technology."
Earlier this month, the company agreed a new alliance with AB SCIEX that will see Sigma-Aldrich distributing the mass spectrometry-based SCIEX iChemistry Solutions product range internationally.
This partnership will strengthen Sigma-Aldrich's portfolio of reagents for mass spectrometry-based protein research, while laying a foundation for future collaborations.
