Sigma-Aldrich launches new SAFC EX-CELL Advanced product line

Sigma-Aldrich has announced the launch of its new EX-CELL Advanced product line, commencing with the release of a high-performing batch media system.

Sold through the company's SAFC Commercial business, the range aims to provide increased performance, streamlined regulatory compliance and supply chain security for biopharmaceutical manufacturing applications.

The initial EX-CELL Advanced CHO Fed-batch System was developed for a range of widely-used industrial cell lines, including SAFC's proprietary CHOZN brand.

It has been shown to outperform other commercially available equivalents in tests by displaying significantly higher titres and uncompromised protein quality.

Deb Stutz, director of biopharmaceutical marketing at SAFC, said: "We are delighted to launch this product in response to market needs for new levels of speed and performance, while continuing to provide the confidence of a secure and transparent supply chain."

Sigma-Aldrich achieved a record performance in 2014 and is in the process of being acquired by the Merck KGaA group.
