Sigma-Aldrich maintains growth in Q2 2012
Sigma-Aldrich has announced a $664 million (426.92 million pounds) reported sales performance during the second quarter of 2012.
The company's revenue total for the period represented a four percent year-on-year increase, with acquisitions contributing six percent to sales growth, while improvements were observed across all geographic regions.
A new quarterly record was achieved by the company's SAFC division, thanks in large part to the improved performance of its custom pharma business, while research sales also rose by one percent.
Full-year 2012 organic sales growth is predicted to be in the low-to-mid single digit range, with cost control and restructuring efforts set to be carried out over the coming months.
Sigma-Aldrich president and chief executive Rakesh Sachdev said: "Our management team remains fully engaged and committed to delivering a solid second-half performance."
In June 2012, the company announced plans to consolidate its chiral chemistry service operations at its facility in Cambridge, providing a single, dedicated point of contact to customers.
