Sigma-Aldrich named among world’s top corporate citizens
Sigma-Aldrich has been included in the 2014 list of the world's 100 best corporate citizens from Corporate Responsibility Magazine.
The firm was ranked 28th in the overall list, which is compiled based on the outstanding corporate responsibility performance of public companies during 2013. It marked the third time Sigma-Aldrich has been included in the report.
Assessing categories such as environment, climate change, employee relations, human rights, governance, finance and philanthropy, the list does not rely on self-reporting, meaning only the most transparent and responsible organisations are included.
Sigma-Aldrich moved up more than 50 spots in the overall ranking order since its last appearance.
Rakesh Sachdev, president and chief executive officer of Sigma-Aldrich, said: "We recognise the impact that being a responsible corporate citizen can have on making the world a cleaner, healthier and safer place to live and we are honored to be recognised for our continuous efforts."
This comes after the firm was included in Corporate Knights' list of the 100 most sustainable companies in the world for the first time earlier this year.
