Sigma-Aldrich ‘on track during third quarter’

22nd October 2010

Sigma-Aldrich has affirmed its confidence that it will meet 2010 growth targets after reporting growth in the third quarter of the year.

The science company's latest fiscal report revealed a three-month sales total of $563 million (358.3 million pounds), up by five percent compared to the corresponding quarter of 2009.

Its SAFC and Research Products divisions both experienced double-digit growth during the three months, while online sales and international market performance also saw marked increases.

As such, Sigma-Aldrich now expects to meet predictions of achieving organic sales growth in the single-digit range for the full year period.

Jai Nagarkatti, the company's chairman, president and chief executive officer, said: "Each of our research initiatives in analytical, biology and materials science products also made a positive contribution to our sales growth."

Earlier this month, Sigma-Aldrich announced the appointment of Mark Cassidy as vice-president of contract manufacturing in its SAFC business unit.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800137333-ADNFCR
