Sigma-Aldrich signs distribution agreement with CPC Scientific

Sigma-Aldrich has signed a distribution agreement with custom peptide synthesis provider CPC Scientific, it as been announced.

CPC Scientific, which also delivers GMP peptides and peptide APIs, will offer Sigma-Aldrich’s PEPscreen customer peptide libraries to North American companies and researchers in the life sciences and pharmaceutical industry under the terms of the deal.

The agreement follows the development of a proprietary synthesis platform by Sigma-Aldrich, which allows the high throughput production of peptides in milligram quantities. These are "ideal" for manufacturing custom peptide libraries, the company said.

Commenting on the deal, Stacey Hoge, senior product manager at Sigma-Aldrich, said: "Our PEPscreen technology enables small scale, early stage drug candidate screenings."

She added: "CPC’s close association with the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry provides great opportunities for Sigma-Aldrich to further engage drug discovery researchers."
