Simplyhealth makes donation to Action for Sick Children’s Dental Playbox project
Simplyhealth has made a donation to Action for Sick Children's Dental Healthcare Project, which aims to improve the dental and overall healthcare of children and young people.
The insurer has provided 5,000 pounds to help provide 2,000 brushing bags for children in Leeds. Each bag contains Simplyhealth-branded toothbrushes, toothpaste and a two-minute timer, as well as cleaning charts, activity sheets, and instructions on how to clean teeth.
These brushing bags will help to support the message delivered through the Dental Playbox Sessions, which are provided free of charge via schools, nurseries and sure start centres.
Raman Sankaran, spokesperson for Simplyhealth, said: "The Dental Playboxes are a fun yet educational idea which highlights the importance of dental hygiene and will give children and young people key skills for their rest of their lives."
It comes after the Simplyhealth Charitable Giving Committee donated 30,000 pounds to help expand the project by funding three new facilitators based in the Leeds area last year.
The firm operates active community funds in three of its locations – Andover, Leeds and Manchester – to support charities and organisations in the local community.
