Simplyhealth wins workplace first aid award

Simplyhealth has been presented with the accolade for best workplace at the inaugural St John Ambulance First Aid Awards.

The company came out top in the financial services and insurance industry category after demonstrating that its Andover, Bristol, Manchester and Leeds offices meet or exceed the statutory requirements for first aid standards.

Among the criteria for winning this award were regular provision of in-house first aid refresher courses and first aid meetings, as well as continual risk assessments to minimise the chances of accidents.

Arthur Withers, health and safety manager, said the award is emblematic of the company's commitment to the wellbeing of its workers.

"We are very pleased that our commitment to health and safety within Simplyhealth has been recognised as best practice within the insurance and finance sector," he said.

This week, the company also revealed that it has been selected as a finalist in the customer commitment category at the 2012 UK Customer Satisfaction Awards.
