Sirona passes 1,000-unit sales milestone for Orthophos SL system
Sirona has announced that its Orthophos SL X-ray system, launched in March 2015, has now shifted more than 1,000 units in sales.
The product has achieved this milestone in eight months, with the 1,000th unit leaving the company's production site in Bensheim on December 16th 2015.
Offering a high-quality image, the system has attracted positive feedback from numerous users and product testers, earning praise for its variety of volume sizes and the option to change the focal plane in post-processing.
Its Sharp Layer technology allows it to generate a single panoramic image using several thousand individual projections, taken rapidly from several angles in one rotation. This method provides precise images that can easily compensate for positioning errors.
Meanwhile, its Direct Conversion Sensor generates electrical signals directly from X-rays without needing to convert them into light, minimising signal loss and further enhancing image quality while reducing the X-ray dose.
Jorg Haist, head of product management for imaging systems at Sirona, said: "The image quality of the Orthophos SL was optimised in many ways. Equipped with Sharp Layer Technology and a Direct Conversion Sensor, this system allows extremely high-resolution images to be made with the lowest possible exposure to radiation."
