Sirona reports ‘increasing CEREC Connect users’

18th September 2008

Sirona Dental Systems has announced an increasing number of users of its CEREC Connect system.

The firm reported that a rising number of dentists are using its web-based communication platform designed for its CEREC and inLab dental CAD/CAM users.

It claims its application can improve productivity through the elimination of physical impressions, with a digitally-scanned impression instead electronically sent to the inLab laboratory of a dentist’s choice.

Dr Robert Schmidth said: “With digital impressions, the fits are better! You just can’t beat a computer-milled finish, whether it’s CEREC or inLab.”

He added that the predictability of digital impressions surpasses that of physical impressions and is also more consistent.

In July 2008, Sirona said over half of inLab owners in the US incorporate infiniDent service into their daily practice.

It added that many consistently use their service as their personal “extended workbench”.
