Sirona unveils its new Cerec Connect models
Sirona has unveiled its new Cerec Connect models which are the first complete online communication platforms to assist in creating dental models and replicas.
The company explained the products, which will be available from May, will offer web-based digital model transmission from the dental office directly to the lab.
Reproductions are created by the push of a button and dentists will be able to purchase the articulator system in quadrant and full-arch structures.
It works by submitting a digital impression and prescription form from the medical professional to their inLab laboratory of choice, where a technician is able to conceive the restoration based on the virtual model.
Fabrication costs are reduced and the production process is speeded up. The quality is improved as there are not the same risks of damage as are associated with traditional stone replicas.
Sirona stated: “It paves the way for the impression-free dental practice and a model-free dental laboratory.”
In January, the company’s new Teno treatment centre was voted among the best designed products of the past year in the 2009 iF product design award.
