Sirona updates CEREC software with version 4.3

2nd July 2014

Sirona has announced the release of the version 4.3 update for the software for CEREC, its CAD/CAM restoration system.

With the new software installed, users will be able to benefit from more accurate virtual models when creating digital impressions with the CEREC Omnicam, while they will now be able to mill with carbide systems for the first time.

Feedback will also be provided by the software in the event of undercuts occurring in the course of minimally invasive preparation, allowing users to take corrective steps to avoid problems with fitting.

Other enhancements will improve the intuitiveness and flexibility of the software, including an improved virtual articulator to aid checking of dynamic as well as static occlusion, plus new options to facilitate the shaping of front teeth.

Roddy MacLeod, vice-president for CAD/CAM systems at Sirona, said: "The great flexibility provided in the selection and processing of materials allows the dentist to provide his patient with a full range of solutions for a large number of indications, all in a single session."

The company also announced this week that it has delivered its 1,200th inEos X5 lab scanner, highlighting the success of the product in the 12 months since its launch.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801732842-ADNFCR
