Smith and Nephew launches new Evos Mini Plating System

23rd October 2014

Smith and Nephew has announced the launch of a new long bone-specific system for the reparation of fractures.

The Evos Mini Plating System includes a variety of mini, flat plates and screw sizes necessary to address both fracture reduction and short-term fixation while final load-bearing repairs are being completed.

Designed specifically for patients who have suffered breakages of the long bones of the arms and legs, the new range includes three different colour-coded size modules that offer a variety of up to eight low-profile plate geometries.

Each module also includes instrumentation for implementing the corresponding low-profile screw options for cortical, cancellous and osteopenic bone.

Brad Cannon, president of endoscopy, trauma and extremities for Smith and Nephew, said: "With our new EVOS MINI Plating System, surgeons now have a robust, small plating system designed specifically for the challenging size and shape of long bones."

The company will be announcing its financial results for the third quarter of 2014 next week on October 30th.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801756221-ADNFCR
