Smith and Nephew names new chief financial officer
Smith and Nephew has announced the appointment of Graham Baker as its new chief financial officer (CFO), effective as of March 1st 2017.
Mr Barker joins the company from Alvogen, a fast-growing generic pharmaceuticals company with 35 offices across the world. Prior to joining Alvogen, he worked at AstraZeneca for 20 years.
The British national, a chartered accountant and tax advisor, will also be appointed to Smith and Nephew's board as an executive director when he joins the company next year.
Olivier Bohuon, chief executive of Smith and Nephew, said: "Graham's blue-chip experience, deep sector knowledge and extensive exposure to established and emerging markets set him apart as the ideal next CFO for Smith and Nephew."
The company also recently announced the unveiling of two commemorative plaques at its site in Hull in honour of its founders, Thomas James Smith and his nephew Horatio Nelson Smith.
These plaques will be positioned in a way that is visible to the public and will become part of the Lord Mayor's centenary plaque trail in Hull.
