Smith and Nephew renews sponsorship of KC Stadium North Stand

Smith and Nephew has announced that it will be extending its sponsorship deal at the KC Stadium in Hull for an additional five years.

The medical technology firm has been sponsoring the North Stand of Hull City AFC's home ground since it opened in 2002 and will be extending its support on improved financial terms.

Mark Maguire, chief executive of Hull City, said this is a positive development for the stadium and club, given the key role Smith and Nephew plays in supporting the local economy, as well as its strong global reputation.

Roger Teasdale, president of Smith and Nephew Advanced Wound Management, said the sponsorship deal comes as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

"This agreement underpins our ongoing contribution to the local community, as well as providing a range of benefits for our employees," he stated.

Last month, the company announced the purchase of Tenet Medical Engineering, an Alberta-based surgical patient positioning specialist.
