Sphere Medical names new medical advisory board member

14th January 2015

Sphere Medical has announced the appointment of the leading clinician Professor Dr Michael Quintel to its medical advisory board.

Dr Quintel is a renowned expert within the German and European intensive care sector and is the current director of the department of anaesthesiology, emergency and intensive care medicine at the University of Gottingen.

He will provide insight and support to assist with the company's plans for introducing new devices for the critical care environment, including the recently-launched Proxima patient-dedicated blood gas analyser.

The Sphere medical advisory board draws together wide-ranging medical expertise from a variety of members, including Professor Jean-Louis Vincent of the Universite Libre de Bruxelles and Dr Tom Clutton-Brock of the University of Birmingham Medical School.

Sphere Medical chief executive officer Wolfgang Rencken said: "We look forward to drawing upon Dr Quintel's extensive experience within the German intensive care profession – in particular his work on sepsis, as this is one of the market segments we are initially focusing on."

The firm showcased the Proxima device at the Intensive Care Society community meeting at the ICC London ExCel last month in order to introduce the benefits of the CE Mark-approved product to industry professionals.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801770243-ADNFCR
