Sphere Medical to present Proxima blood gas analyser at London event
Sphere Medical will be giving medical professionals the opportunity to trial its new in-line patient dedicated arterial blood gas analyser, Proxima, at an industry event in London this month.
The company will attend the Intensive Care Society community meeting at the ICC London ExCel from December 8th to 10th, allowing attendees to learn more about the CE Mark-approved analytical device.
It can be attached directly to the patient through their arterial line, meaning closed blood samples can be withdrawn frequently, analysed and then returned directly to the patient, all without leaving the bedside.
This enables rapid delivery of blood gas results to aid early decision-making and closer control of therapy for critically ill patients, whilst also conserving blood and reducing nurse dependency.
The company said the event will give intensive care professionals the opportunity "to trial this groundbreaking miniaturised blood gas analyser and explore the benefits of receiving blood gas results, just like blood pressure, within the patient's bed space".
Sphere Medical introduced the device at the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland annual congress earlier this year.
