St Jude Medical launches Optis Mobile System in Europe

10th February 2016

St Jude Medical has announced the European and Japanese launch of its new Optis Mobile System, which is optimised for hospitals with multiple catheterisation labs.

The system is designed to combine state-of-the-art optical coherence tomography (OCT) and angiography co-registration with fractional flow reserve (FFR) technology in a single portable system.

It helps physicians make improved stenting decisions based on high-resolution 3D OCT views of coronary anatomy, while simultaneously mapping their exact location via angiogram.

Meanwhile, the use of PressureWire FFR measurement technology provides detailed coronary haemodynamic information during percutaneous coronary intervention procedures, thus improving outcomes and reducing healthcare costs.

This combination of technology was previously only available via the St Jude Medical Optis Integrated System, but the new version is much more conveniently sized.

Dr Eric Fain, group president of St Jude Medical, said: "The OPTIS Mobile System represents the ongoing commitment of St Jude Medical to develop products that provide physicians with more options for improved OCT and angiography co-registration guidance in their daily practice."ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801812321-ADNFCR
