St Jude Medical reports strong results for fourth quarter of 2015
St Jude Medical has achieved strong financial results in the fourth quarter of 2015, during which it achieved net sales of approximately $1.45 billion (1.01 billion pounds).
Preliminary data reveals that the company was able to achieve a seven percent year-on-year improvement in net sales for the quarter on a constant currency basis, which was in line with its previously stated expectations.
Challenging market conditions were partially offset by continued growth in atrial fibrillation and neuromodulation, as well as strong sales from the recent Thoratec acquisition, with the strength of its US division and the launch of the Heartmate 3 Left Ventricular Assist System in Europe helping to drive momentum.
The firm will be confirming these figures during its conference call on January 27th 2016, during which it will also provide guidance for the 2016 first quarter and full-year periods.
Michael Rousseau, St Jude Medical's president and chief executive officer, said: "We continue to execute our innovation-based growth strategy and made good progress during the fourth quarter in our areas of focus."
