Steris publishes financial report for third quarter
Steris has published its financial report for the third quarter of its 2011 fiscal year, noting a level performance in revenue terms.
The medical device manufacturer generated $328.3 million (204.32 million pounds) during the quarter, which was roughly equal to the $327.8 million figure from the corresponding period of last year.
Growth was observed in Steris' healthcare and Isomedix Services business divisions, while the firm was also able to commence shipments of its first System 1E units during Q3.
Walt Rosebrough, president and chief executive officer of Steris, highlighted the fact that the device has received US regulatory approval of its chemical indicator, while it has also made progress towards attaining clearance for a biological indicator.
"We believe that System 1E remains the best System 1 transition alternative for most of our customers' needs and we anticipate shipping approximately 1,000 System 1E units this fiscal year," he added.
Last month, the company announced that it has now completed phase I of its preparation for new global GS1 standards for global supply chain operations.
