Steris to Sell Dental Division for Over $780 Million

15th April 2024

Steris, a healthcare device firm, has entered into an agreement to sell its dental division, HuFriedyGroup, to a Peak Rock Capital affiliate for just over $780 million.

Additionally, there’s a possibility of earning an extra $12 million if the Dental division reaches specific financial goals in 2025.

With a workforce of around 1,500 individuals, the organisation offers services in just under 100 nations and maintains over 20 global production sites.

The sale is set up as an equity deal and is anticipated to conclude in the first financial quarter of 2025.

Dan Cerestio, the leading chief executive at Steris, stated, “Since acquiring our Dental segment through the Cantel acquisition, we have focused on deploying lean manufacturing methods to drive operating efficiencies.”

Cerestio went on to add, “After a thorough review of strategic alternatives, we have decided to divest our Dental segment to allow us to focus on our customers within our core markets in healthcare, pharma, and medtech who can most benefit from our full portfolio of products and services.”
