Stiefel announces new appointments and promotions

Stiefel Laboratories has announced several new appointments and promotions within the company as it continues to integrate its global business operations following the December 2006 acquisition of Connetics Corporation.

The dermatology specialist has welcomed Tumi Oguntala who is to become associate director of global market research and forecasting.

In her role, she is to consult with the company’s global teams to help Stiefel capitalise on market analysis and customer insights.

Alsfonso Urgate, vice-president of global marketing, expressed his delight in the appointment, stating that Ms Oguntala brought an “impressive expertise” to the position.

In addition, Jeff Klimaski has been promoted to vice-president in global compliance as well taking on a new role of global corporate compliance officer.

David Angulo has been promoted to senior director of global clinical research while Seema Jaitly and Steve Karasick have also been promoted to the position of vice-president in global pharmacovigalence and human resources respectively.

“These well-deserved promotions and strategic new hires strengthen our team for current and future endeavours,” commented Charles W Stiefel, company president, chief executive officer and chairman.

Late last year, Stiefel and Allergan announced the start of a strategic collaboration that would see the two companies develop, manufacture, distribute and promote dermatological products containing tazarotene.
