Stiefel Laboratories confirms senior staff promotions

Stiefel Laboratories has announced two senior staff promotions to support the work of its US sales operations.

The dermatology specialist confirmed that Wayne Wilson is to be promoted to vice-president of US sales and Michael DiFiore will assume Mr Wilson’s previous position and become executive director of managed markets.

Both Mr Wilson and Mr DiFiore will continue to report to Jim Hartman who is senior vice-president of US commercial operations.

Mr Harman praised the work of both members of staff, indicating that they had gained “tremendous expertise” in the dermatology market.

“In these new roles, I am confident their proven leadership will be an even more valuable asset to Stiefel Laboratories,” he added.

Mr Wilson has worked in account management and sales in the pharmaceutical industry for nearly 20 years, previously working at Amgen and Johnson & Johnson.

In his new role he will be responsible for the staffing, planning and execution of initiatives to support US corporate sales and market share goals.

Meanwhile, as the new executive director of managed markets, Mr DiFiore will be responsible for creating and maintaining coverage of the company’s prescription product portfolio.

Earlier this year, Stiefel announced several new appointments and promotions within the company following the December 2006 acquisition of Connetics Corporation.
