Strike Media wins UK brief with Rakuten TV
Strike Media has been handed a new brief by Rakuten TV, a prominent provider of video-on-demand services.
The company, which was formerly known as Wauki, has appointed the agency to handle its UK corporate and consumer PR as it seeks to position itself as a leading provider of home cinema experiences, reports Gorkana.
Strike Media will support a brand awareness campaign, plus sponsorships and promotions, as part of Rakuten TV's broader 2017 strategy of bolstering brand awareness across its 12 countries of distribution.
This global communications push is being led from Barcelona, where Rakuten TV is headquartered.
Wez Merchant, founder of Strike Media, said: "The sector is becoming increasingly competitive and we are looking forward to helping Rakuten TV grow in terms of awareness within trade circles, with consumers and also within the film industry itself."
The brand already has more than one million UK members and is now seeking to make itself more competitive with other streaming services such as Amazon, iTunes and Netflix.
