Stryker receives award for Trevo ProVue Retriever

Stryker has announced that its innovative medical device, the Trevo ProVue Retriever, has won a prestigious industry accolade.

The company has received the 2014 Prix Galien USA Award for best medical technology for the device, which is designed to restore blood ?ow in the neurovasculature by removing blood clots in patients experiencing ischaemic stroke.

It is the only Stentriever device to date to be fully visible under fluoroscopic imaging, setting a high standard in precision placement, visualisation of device/clot interaction and clot retrieval efficacy.

The company was honoured for its work on the product at the Prix Galien Awards Gala, which was held in New York at the end of last month.

Mark Paul, president of Stryker's global neurovascular business, said: "The Trevo ProVue Retriever represents a truly innovative medical product and one that has brought about a new era in ischemic stroke management and intracranial clot retrieval."
