Takeda restructures to establish global presence
Takeda has announced new organisational structures in an attempt to become a worldwide pharmaceutical company.
By streamlining executive reporting relationships to the company’s president Yasuchika Hasegawa, the firm hopes to become increasingly responsive to changes in the global operating environment.
The aim of the restructure is also to maximise the potential of new products in an international market, as well as establishing the business across continents.
A number of corporate-level positions have been created, with Dr Shigenori Ohkawa becoming chief scientific officer and Alan MacKenzie taking the role of executive vice-president. There will also be a chief administrative officer appointed at a later date.
Mr Hasegawa explained the development of these roles will strengthen the company’s global operations formation.
“Through this new organisational structure, Takeda looks forward to continuing our history of creating and marketing novel pharmaceutical products that meet the needs of patients globally,” he remarked.
Earlier this week, the firm announced it had started its own sales and marketing operations in Spain to promote Blopress and Glustin.
It also asserted it was expanding activities in the Republic of Ireland to cover the whole country.
