Takeda reveals departmental reorganisation

29th March 2012

Takeda has announced the formation of two new departments at its global headquarters, named Corporate Strategy and Corporate Finance & Controlling.

Coming into effect on April 1st, the new departments will be created by the joint reorganisation of the company's existing Corporate Strategy & Planning Department and Finance & Accounting Department.

The firm said the restructuring is designed to "ensure steady growth as a global pharmaceutical company by reinforcing the company's corporate strategy function with a focus on the mid and long-term perspective".

It added that the acquisition of Nycomed in September last year made it necessary for the Japan-based firm to review its organisational structure, as the company now has a presence in more than 70 countries.

Takeda has devised a 2011-2013 Mid-Range Plan, which sets out how the firm intends to adapt with the changing market and maintain its focus on growth through innovation.

It will aim to integrate its existing product pipeline with Nycomed's strong sales infrastructure in Europe and emerging nations.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801329307-ADNFCR
