Takeda sets up wellbeing programme

Takeda has revealed that it plans to establish the Takeda Wellbeing Programme 2009, which will be entitled Giving Children in Long-term Treatment the Energy to Live.

It is designed to support the actions of groups that provide help to the families of youngsters who are being treated for diseases over an extended period of time.

The firm has located the groups through the non-profit organisation the Civil Society Initiative Fund, which include Shibutane – the Sibling Support Seeding Project, the Hospital Clown Team and the Network for Support of Children with Diseases.

“Takeda is continuously [supporting] the activities [that contribute] to society through support for patients and their families who need different kinds of assistance […] through pharmaceutical products,” the firm highlighted.

In other Takeda news, the firm announced last month that it has joined the Carbon Disclosure Leadership index – a global initiative that encourages firms to disclose and reduce their CO2 emissions.
