Takeda unveils new company structure

4th November 2011

Takeda is set to apply a new structure of business operations to its key personnel, with several new positions being established and others abolished.

The Japanese company has announced the creation of the new chief medical and scientific officer (CMSO) and chief commercial officer roles (CCO).

According to a statement, the CMSO will replace the existing role of chief scientific officer and board member Dr Tadataka Yamada has been selected to hold this position.

Meanwhile, the CCO will assume responsibility for the firm's global sales structure and replace two existing roles – international operations (America/Europe) and international operations (North Asia).

Dr Frank Morich is set to take up this position and will be charged with leading sales strategies in the US, EU and key emerging markets.

Takeda said its latest reorganisation reflects the recent acquisition of Nycomed, which the firm described as "another significant step towards globalisation".

The company completed its takeover of Nycomed at the end of September, when Dr Morich was named as the firm's new chief executive.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800786529-ADNFCR
