Tecan maintains double-digit growth trajectory in first half of 2016
Tecan has announced its financial results for the first six months of 2016, during which it delivered a sales total of 250.6 million Swiss francs (183.71 million pounds).
This represents a year-on-year increase of 15 percent in local currency terms, or 17.7 percent in Swiss currency, thereby maintaining its recent double-digit growth momentum. Its profits, meanwhile, rose in line with expectations.
During the six-month period, the firm was able to make progress with the integration of Sias, which was acquired in November 2015, while it also saw a significant increase in serial production of major platforms within its partnering business.
Additionally, Tecan achieved a successful launch of several important new features for its Fluent liquid handling platforms, as well as an additional Spark reader platform model.
David Martyr, chief executive officer of Tecan, said: "I am delighted with our continued strong sales growth in the first half of 2016 and the further improvement in underlying profitability."
For the full year, Tecan continues to anticipate group sales growth in the double-digit percentage range in local currencies.
