Tecan names new development and operations leader
Tecan has announced the appointment of Ulrich Kanter as head of its development and operations division, effective as of July 14th 2014
In this new role, he will assume responsibility for development activities, production, supply chain management and materials purchasing at Tecan. He has previously been employed by companies such as Roche, AVL Medizintechnik and Heraeus.
Mr Kanter has been appointed as the successor to Dr Martin Brusdeilins, who will retire at the end of September 2014. Until this time, he will continue to act as chief scientific officer, with a search for a successor to take on this role having already commenced.
This appointment comes at a time when the firm is seeking to considerably reduce product manufacturing costs through improvements to its supply chain, materials purchasing and development processes.
Tecan chief executive officer Dr David Martyr said: "Ulrich Kanter brings with him a huge wealth of experience in implementing these types of projects and has a record of formidable successes."
In 2013, the company was able to achieve greater profitability, with significant growth forecast over the next two years.
