Tech Standards to be introduced to the NHS

The health secretary Matt Hancock claims his vision for technology in healthcare will lay the foundation for a new generation of digital services, meeting the needs of clinicians, patients and managers.
His policy paper ‘the Future of Healthcare’ highlights the minimum technical and digital standards that will need to be met in the NHS, and ensure that all digital services will be ungraded as and when better technologies become available.
He said “Current system providers who fail to meet these standards or do not understand the principals of the health and care sector will either be phased out or contracts will be terminated.”
Funding is already in place for trusts to be able to deliver on the new vision. The government is now looking to the staff, suppliers and technology experts to feedback and help to boost the outcomes and make the new system relevant to every area within the health and care industry.
