Teva Performance Unaffected by Israel-Hamas Conflict
Israel’s conflict with Hamas has not had a significant impact on commercial performance, according to Teva Pharmaceutical Industry, the largest global producer of generic medicine.
Teva explained that production in Israel only accounts for about 8% of all worldwide manufacturing, and sales in the region amount to a trivial 2% of their total revenue.
The company stated that they “currently don’t expect a meaningful impact on our business and/or our financial and operational performance.”
Teva also has standby manufacturing facilities for critical pharmaceuticals in place as part of its emergency strategy, “much like our operations during the COVID and previous instances of security unrest.”
They described how “as an Israeli company we condemn this appalling assault. Teva stands with Israel in this time of great loss and challenge.”
At the beginning of November, Teva is anticipated to release their Q3 financial results.
Teva is currently looking to work with French pharmaceutical company Sanofi to create an inflammatory bowel disease therapy that it believes could be a top-selling medication.
