Teva purchases majority stake in Immuneering
Teva has agreed to purchase a 51 percent equity share of the genomic analysis company Immuneering, a long-time collaborative partner.
Immuneering is dedicated to using advanced proprietary techniques to identify hidden signals and biological insights across an array of genetic, genomic and proteomic data to enhance drug discovery and development.
The companies have been working together for several years to conduct studies into genetic biomarkers, therapy-specific gene expression signatures and breakthrough work in characterising non-biological complex drugs.
By purchasing a majority holding in Immuneering, Teva will receive right of first refusal in projects relating to its objective of developing, personalising and improving treatment of central nervous system disorders.
Michael Hayden, president of Teva global research and development and chief scientific officer, said: "Immuneering brings together state-of-the-art analytics knowhow with expertise in integrating multiple biologically and clinically relevant inputs. Their ability to cut through, link and interpret enormous and disparate datasets is outstanding."
This comes after the firm agreed to purchase the generics division of Allergan last month in a deal worth $40.5 billion (25.94 billion pounds).
