Teva UK introduces generic Prednisolone EC tablets

2nd December 2010

Teva UK has announced the launch of a generic version of Prednisolone enteric-coated (EC) tablets.

Used to treat inflammatory and allergic conditions such as asthma, rheumatoid arthritis and colitis, the EC tablets are a generic version of Deltacortril from Alliance Pharmaceuticals.

The product is available in 2.5mg and 5mg versions in pots of 28 tablets with the award-winning Teva 360 livery.

"We are delighted to be bringing a generic version of this product to the UK market," said Kim Innes, commercial director at Teva UK.

She said the new launch will help to broaden the firm's portfolio, which is already "the widest of any UK generics supplier".

The Prednisolone tablets will carry a retail price of 8.57 pounds and 8.65 pounds for the 2.5mg and 5mg packs respectively.

Other recent launches from Teva include the Dorzolamide/Timolol ophthalmic solution for glaucoma patients, which the firm added to its product range in October.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800269401-ADNFCR
