Teva UK launches new generic ophthalmic solution
Teva UK has announced the launch of a new generic ophthalmic solution, which is designed for the treatment of glaucoma.
Dorzolamide/Timolol is based on the branded product Cosopt from Merck Sharpe and Dohme and is indicated for use against elevated intraocular pressure among sufferers of open-angle or pseudo-exfoliative glaucoma.
The 20mg/5mg per ml treatment has been designed for patients who have proven unresponsive to topical beta-blocker monotherapy and is branded with the Teva 360 livery, denoting its safety performance.
Kim Innes, commercial director at Teva UK, said: "We are pleased to add this product to our ever-expanding product portfolio – the widest of any UK generics supplier."
Teva UK is currently planning to widen its drug offering even further via the introduction of a new range of over-the-counter treatments in autumn 2010.
More than 20 different product lines are to be introduced, including cold and flu relief medication and gastrointestinal therapies.
