The BSAVA has announced their free triage tool to support vets during the COVID-19 pandemic
The BSAVA has announced their free triage tool, a guide chart which can be downloaded and printed, to help vets in small animal practices identify and process emergency feline and canine cases during the COVID-19 pandemic. The guide chart, which provides additional useful resources, has been designed by multiple specialists and enables the people who work in the practice to swiftly identify urgent through to delayable cases to help with the limited veterinary resources.
In addition to this, BEVA has dropped its membership renewal charges for every veterinary professional for the next 12 weeks, to support vets during these unprecedented times.
Sue Paterson, BVA President, stated: “During these exceptional and worrying times, veterinary surgeons need as much practical help and support as possible. We are hugely grateful for the indefatigable support of an enthusiastic group of volunteers who have rapidly produced this triage tool, which we are now able to share. It should enable patient queries to be processed, reliably and efficiently, allowing for emergency patients to be seen as a matter of urgency within the current Government and RCVS guidelines.”
