The UCL-Ventura breathing aid is one of more than six hundred devices being sent to India

The UCL-Ventura breathing aid is one of more than six hundred devices, including oxygen concentrators and ventilators, being sent to India, which recorded more than three-hundred and sixty thousand new cases on April 27, 2021.

Nine airlines containing supplies, including one-hundred and twenty non-invasive ventilators, four-hundred and ninety-five oxygen concentrators and twenty manual ventilators, will be sent to India in the next seven days.

The team is ready to send more to India to help battle against COVID-19.

UCL Institute of Healthcare Engineering, Professor Rebecca Shipley, stated: “I’m immensely proud of the UCL Ventura team and indebted to our logistics partner – G-TEM – who after receiving the call on Saturday morning, arranged for the shipment to be sent with the government’s emergency supplies to India’s worst-hit areas. In the last year, we have built partnerships in countries across the world and we remain committed to doing everything we can to support the global COVID-19 response.”
