Thermo Fisher launches new lab solution

11th June 2007

Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced that it has launched a new solution to boost performance in toxicology laboratories when testing for drugs of abuse in urine samples.

The firm has said that TurboTox GC/MS Productivity Solution combines Thermo Scientific DSQ IITM single quadrupole GC/MS system, ToxLab 2.0 software and GC/MS methods and consumables to make a "complete platform".

According to Thermo Fisher, the methods used in the TurboTox solution have been fully validated across a number of areas, including linearity, precision and specificity.

The fact that the solution runs from sample preparation and follows the process through to sample analysis means that users of the TurboTox productivity solution can have the "utmost analytical confidence".

Where the ToxLab software is concerned, it works in real time to monitor and modify batches as you work.

Thermo Fisher has annual sales of some $9 billion, according to the firm’s website, serving 350,000 customers and employing 30,000 people across the company.
