Thermo Fisher Scientific appoints new president and CEO

Thermo Fisher Scientific’s board of directors has appointed a new president, chief executive officer (CEO) and director of the company, it has announced.

From October 15th, Marc Casper, who is the firm’s current vice-president and chief operating officer, will take up his new post, taking over from Marijn Dekkers who recently announced his resignation.

Mr Dekkers will take up the position of chief executive of Bayer in Germany, a firm that manufacturers nutrition, healthcare and technology products.

"With our industry-leading position, commitment to world-class innovation and the most talented employees in the industry, we believe that the company is well-prepared for this transition and well-positioned to capitalise on new opportunities," explained Jim Manzi, a chairman of the board for Thermo Fisher Scientific.

As part of its aims to achieve further coverage in the healthcare industry, the company is currently exhibiting its range of instrumentation, equipment, consumables and food safety testing software at the AOAC International Annual Meeting and Exposition.
